In his 40 years as a litigator, Mr. Werve has successfully represented Municipal and Governmental entities, insurance companies and plaintiffs as well as defendants in more than 3,500 matters involving tort liability claims including premises liability, automobile negligence, excessive force, negligent design and construction, breach of contract actions, insurance defense, medical and legal malpractice, and business litigation.  With extensive experience in settlement negotiations, Mr. Werve has successfully handled hundreds of mediations and arbitrations for clients and has taken more than 200 trials, arbitrations, and mediations to conclusion.  He has appeared in State, Federal and Appellate Courts. 

A specialist in government tort liability, Mr. Werve has represented the County of Orange on more than 1,250 litigated cases over the past 40 years. 

Due to his effective and sound negotiation skills, Mr. Werve has served as an arbitrator, a mediator and a Judge Pro Tem for over 20 years. He has earned an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating bestowed only on attorneys who have demonstrated the highest professional ethics and legal ability.

​Mr. Werve is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocated (ABOTA), a prestigious honor only bestowed on attorneys who have demonstrated the skills, integrity, and experience in trial advocacy.

A graduate of Creighton University, Mr Werve received his Juris Doctorate from Western State College of Law. In addition to practicing law, he has taught continuing education courses in Governmental Tort Liability for the past 30 years and has also served as a lecturer for the Southern California Underwriters Association. Prior to law school, Mr. Werve served as a Captain in the United States Air Force and is a member of the Vietnam Combat Pilots Association.  Mr. Werve and his wife support several local charities.
